Well, it is done! The family conference that was kind of taking over our  minds and lives is over and praise be to God-it was incredible!! It was so surreal to be at an event that started as an idea that Dan had over a year and a half ago and to then to actually be at the event with over 850 people from our archdiocese.  It was amazing to watch so many little details just fall into place, like the weather. It was supposed to thunderstorm Friday night and instead it was sunny.  Yep. We are blessed with a wonderful and supportive Archbishop and it was so great to him present the entire time. The conference team and volunteers did an awesome job and all of the prayers said for the weekend were definitely answered.

While the conference was going on, I was busy overseeing the children’s activities throughout the day…which included about 150 kids. It was a lot of fun  and thanks to all of our awesome volunteers, everything went smoothly.  We had air bounces, crafts, games, and a faith station. My favorite part was watching our seminarians teach all of the children the song “I’m trading my sorrows” and then watching the kids perform it on stage in front of everyone at the conference. It was precious and the kids were so proud!

I know the Holy Spirit was guiding all of us the whole weekend and it was just so awesome to see so many families from our archdiocese come together and celebrate our faith.  Saturday evening, after we got the kids to bed, Dan and I collapsed on the couch feeling physically exhausted, but with smiles on our faces reflecting on the past two days, rejoicing in the fact that it was over, and in awe of how it all worked out.  God is so good.

And then on Sunday, guess what? We rested!
