Thankful

So apparently my inspiration to write these days only comes around about once a week. Life has been busy and I often feel like I can’t keep up with the blog and sometimes wonder what is the point.  I am just a simple wife and mother just doing my best to live out the job God has generously given me.

I had a goal of rereading Story of A Soul and blogging about my thoughts…and that too has been put aside due to life’s distractions. And to continue the pity party, I feel like every time I blog, there is some wordpress or computer issue that I just can’t fix!  Anyway, why vent all of this? Well this morning I thought to myself “to blog or not blog?” I chose to not and then happened to read new post from one of my college besties. She included me in a list of blogs that she loves. And that might not seem like that big of a deal, considering we are friends, but it actually meant the world to me and gave me the little push I needed to keep writing. Thank you Ana! And P.S., her blog is hilarious and her three daughters are so so precious and always up to mischief, which is awesome. I so wish our kids could play together.

Nothing much to report from the week concerning the kids. Joshua decided to take on some chores and I found him washing his clothes in the toilet. Kolbe continues to charm with his sweet little smirk, and then suddenly attacks with his rough, boy energy. And Emma, determined to have her OWN phone, taped together one of Dan’s old phone cases and is carrying it around as her most prized possession. Awesome. You would think she was almost 16, instead of 6. But I do have to say that the other night at dinner, while Emma was eating, she stopped and said, “Mommy, I love everything on my plate.” Week made.

Recent events concerning some friends of ours have made me reflect on how precious life is and how easy it is to take life for granted. I have been wondering if I spend too much time worrying about house chores or the latest update on Facebook, instead of giving my children more attention…with that being said, I am going to end this short post with the hopes of writing again soon. Time to go enjoy Saturday…and to stop my kids from sampling all of the individual boxes of sugary and super healthy cereals.
