Happy Times

This morning I was reading Ana’s most recent post about good things from her week. It inspired me to think about the good moments from my past week and appreciate them even more. There is one in particular that I want to share today.

On Sunday we went to the Baptism of my cousin Jonathan’s daughter, Arends Catherine. First, it is always a blessing to witness a baby becoming a child of God through the Sacrament of Baptism. It was so sweet watching all of the kids as they observed the Baptism, they would giggle and loved being reminded that they were baptized too.  Another reason this event  is high on my “good things” from the week is that it was so fun to spend the afternoon with a lot of my extended family. So many of us live in the area, but we don’t all get together too often.

I grew up in NC, but my family and I looked forward to the two times a year we would travel to Mobile to see my Dad’s family. A week on Mobile Bay every summer was the best vacation a kid could dream up, at least that’s my opinion.  We would usually fly to Mobile and oh how I couldn’t wait to see my grandparents huge conversion van, or as we called it, the Happy Times van, waiting to pick us up! And then we were off for a week of fun with our cousins.

So on Sunday, after the Baptism, we went back to Jonathan and Stefanie’s house for a little party and it was so much fun to watch all of our children play together, making memories, just like we did as kids.

It’s the little things. The Happy Times.
