37 weeks

Yesterday I went in for my 37 week appointment. Because I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes earlier in this pregnancy, my doctor wanted me to have an ultrasound to get an estimate on how big our little girl is. I was very much in support of that, one, because it is so fun to get to sneak a peak at her, and two, Joshua was a whopping 10 lbs 6 oz when he was born and I would prefer not to relive that natural delivery…

She is currently measuring 7 lbs 8 oz, which is great! And we decided to go ahead and schedule an induction for September 3. So two weeks to go and we can’t wait!! I have been experiencing lots of Braxton Hicks contractions, which of course keeps the desire of wanting to go into labor in the forefront of my mind. I have been cleaning and nesting, trying to spend quality time with the other three, and praying the next two weeks (or less) will go by somewhat quickly.

Emma and Kolbe are so excited for their sister to arrive, they keep drawing me pictures to show their excitement. Below is Kolbe’s first attempt at drawing a family portrait. Kind of creepy looking, but I thought it was precious how he drew his sister in my tummy and I might or might not have teared up when he gave it to me.

Emma’s drawing is of me laboring in the hospital. Awesome, right? I really have no other words to describe her masterpiece. I mean, except for- let’s get this labor thing over with. And I have to admit, this picture made me cry too…but not for sentimental reasons.

And this post wouldn’t be complete without a quick 37 week belly pic.

37 weeks

And that’s about all I have for today. ┬áMaybe the next time I write, she will be here. Maybe.
